Arsenal to blow budget, Emery launches £37m double swoop

The Gunners have launched a £37million double raid for Dennis Praet and Joachim Andersen.

Unai Emery as he looks to strengthen the Gunners as he launches a bid for the Sampdoria duo.

Arsenal only have a budget of around £40m after failing to win the Europa League

According to The Sun Praet and Andersen will cost a combined £37m if the Gunners are to secure the Serie A pair.

Praet, 25, is seen as a replacement for Aaron Ramsey who will join Juventus on a free transfer this summer.

Centre-back Andersen has been linked with Manchester United and Tottenham.

But Arsenal are determined to add the 23-year-old to their ranks as they look to close the gap on their rivals.

Sampdoria are willing to sell both players but for a fee of around £45m.

Arsenal boss Unai Emery is prioritising making signings in defence and midfield this summer.

Meanwhile, Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka is looking forward and admits he is over the Europa League defeat to Chelsea.

Xhaka said: “The Europa League final has happened. It’s part of the past. We look forward now and I look forward to winning the title here.

Xhaka will play for Switzerland tonight when they take on Portugal in the semi-finals of the Nations League.

“It would be historic to win this tournament, a title that would be important for our nation. We are in the semi-final, and once you have got that far you want to get to the final. Everything then is open.

“Portugal are very strong. We played them in the last World Cup qualifying. They are a team that plays very compact and has excellent individual players.

The winners of that match will play either England or the Netherlands in the final.
